The short version
Subscrify, the mobile app, collects nothing. There is no account, no internet connection is needed, and nothing you enter ever leaves your phone. Everything stays in a single file on your device. This website is separate from the app, and may count anonymous page views.
The app
We do not collect your data, because there is nowhere to collect it to. Subscrify has no backend. Your subscriptions, credit cards, debts, amounts, notes and payment history are stored in a SQLite database file on your own device and are never transmitted anywhere.
No account. There is no sign-up, no login, no email address and no identifier of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is attributable to you, because nothing about you is recorded.
No analytics inside the app. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDK.
No bank connection. Subscrify never asks for bank credentials, card numbers, account numbers or balances, and has no capability to contact a financial institution. For credit cards it tracks the dates of your billing cycle, not the money in the account.
Notifications are local. Payment reminders are scheduled on your device by the operating system. No push notification service is used, so the contents of your reminders never leave the phone.
Device backups. Your database file sits in the app’s normal document storage, which means it is included in the backup your operating system already makes — iCloud on iOS, Auto Backup on Android. Those backups are governed by Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies, not by ours. You can exclude the app from those backups in your device settings.
Backups you export. If you choose to export a backup, the file is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM, using a key derived from a passphrase you choose via PBKDF2 with at least 600,000 iterations and a fresh salt and initialisation vector for every export. Your passphrase is never stored and never leaves your device. Where you then send or save that file is entirely your decision, and once it leaves the app it is your responsibility.
A precise statement about encryption. Exported backups are encrypted, as described above. The database on your device is not separately encrypted by Subscrify — it relies on the encryption your operating system already applies to app storage, exactly like the files of any other app on the phone. We would rather say this plainly than let “encrypted” imply more than it does.
App lock. If you turn on App lock, Subscrify asks your operating system to verify you using the screen lock you already have — Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint, PIN or pattern. Subscrify never sees or stores your biometric data or your PIN; the operating system only returns a yes or no. App lock is a barrier on the screen, not additional encryption of your data.
This website
This website is served as static files. It has no login and no forms that submit anything to us.
Analytics. We may use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to count visits. Umami is cookieless, sets no persistent identifier, does not track you across other websites, and reports only aggregate figures such as how many people viewed a page, which page they came from, and the country, browser and device type derived from the request. It does not collect your name, email address, or anything that identifies you personally. We do not sell, rent or share any of this data.
Contact. If you email us at the address published on this site, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we keep it only as long as we need to reply.
Children
Subscrify is not directed at children under 13, and since it collects no personal data, it holds none about anyone of any age.
Your rights
Because the app holds no data about you on our side, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on request. Your data is under your direct control: you can edit or archive any entry in the app, and uninstalling the app removes the database from your device permanently.
Changes
We will update this page when the product changes, and update the “last updated” date above. Because there is no account, we have no way to notify you directly — checking this page is the only mechanism.
Contact
A contact address will be published here before Subscrify is released.
